Allie and Channing met while they were attending the University of Alabama. They knew they were right for one another from the start. They spent time being friends first, before realizing their good friendship was becoming something more. He proposed while her entire family were on vacation. She said they were anxiously waiting for them to come back from their stroll. She knew what was about to happen. Of course she said “yes”.

When I met Allie for lunch, she told me they wanted a Birmingham and Mountain Brook engagement session in the beautiful greenhouse at the Botanical Gardens.  They loved the idea of having bright colors to match their bright personalities. The greenhouse is fun, as we kept laughing and shouting “watch out for that cactus!”

Another request of Allie’s was that we find a nursery around Birmingham that she had seen photographed. I knew exactly where this particular nursery was from the photo. I had done a workshop a few years back at the exact same nursery with Leslie Mitchell photography (love her work!!).  So we explored the small town feel of Mountain Brook. We ended their session with what I called the “French inspired house”.  What can I say, I enjoy taking my clients on destination shoots. Even in our own backyard of Birmingham.

I am so over the moon excited for this couple, and I cannot wait to celebrate with them at the Sonnet House this spring!
